My Story

So, let me guess.

You want to help people with your extensive financial knowledge. You care about people and our profession.

But you wouldn’t exactly call what we do “popular”, right?

You have this ability to think in a logical, analytical way – the kind of exceptional qualities that actually make money for your clients, while helping them with even more important things in life. But still…

Most people don’t seem to understand what you do.

They compare you with a stockbroker, an investment manager, or even an insurance agent. The worst part is that they don’t know the difference between a product seller and you.

Not because of you of course, but because we’re working in “the industry”.

Your good intentions get swallowed up, and you are seen as “just like the rest”.

And I’m getting tired of it.

The world is overflowing with rules and compliance, pumping the industry full of regulation to erase the bad advisors; the ponzi schemers.

While here you are, an intelligent, smart planner, with extensive knowledge that could actually help people, and nobody understands the value of what you do.

It’s wrong.

And after years of working in the industry, in the corporate world, I’ve finally decided to do something about it.

I want to teach you everything I know about making our profession matter.

Yep. Everything.

Everything you need to get the rewards you deserve.

I started seebeyondnumbers.com to teach you how to get people to see the real value of financial planning; how to make people feel engaged with your service; and how to make people feel you care. Care about them.

By the time we’re done – by time you have fulfilled your right-brain potential – you can claim your rightful spot in the industry. And above all, in the mind of your ideal clients.

I’ll help you.

Hello, my name is Ronald Sierfoto_ronald

The first thing you should know about me is that I’m a financial planner. That’s right. I’m just like you.

I am characterized as an optimist: eager, out of the box and trustworthy best describe me.

But do you know what’s really cool?

I have a loving wife with three beautiful children (“Love you Denny, Frenk, Sanne and Julia”).

I live in Volendam. That’s a little fishing village in the Netherlands, 20 km from Amsterdam. It’s probably one of the craziest places that ever existed. But I love it. I love the culture. I love the people. I love “who we are”.

I’ve worked in the industry for about 16 years now, which took me from being a relationship manager to a financial planner for wealthy people, mostly entrepreneurs.

I think I have earned my position. Because, probably just like you, I studied long and hard. But hey, I now have my Masters in Science. Actually, I call myself Financial Planner MSc.

That’s something to be proud of.

And that’s my problem. I’m proud of what I do, but it seems like no one understands what I do.

And when no one understands what I do, why on earth would they want to hire me?

And that’s why people go to these other “advisors”. Or even “robo-advisors”.

And that’s why you came here too, right?

Because you want to attract the right prospects and you don’t want to be ignored anymore.

You’re ignored, not because you lack the smarts, experience, or expertise, but because people don’t know how to benefit from your service.

The truth though?

You are smart.

Your expertise does matter.

The only thing holding you back is a lack of understanding about how to make your financial planning service meaningful.

And that’s what we are going to do.

You and me, we’re going to help more people say, “Yes, I want financial planning”. Together.

Because you and me believe in the importance of financial planning. You and me believe that we can innovate the financial service industry by using our left-brain capacities and fulfilling our right-brain potential.

So that you not only have the knowledge, expertise, and number-crunching capabilities. But also:

  • the skills to make your service naturally irresistible
  • the power to ethically influence your prospects to act
  • the strategy to make people see the real value of your service
  • to make people feel you care

So that we – as financial planners – will thrive in the new age by helping more people.
